Reducer – a mechanism designed to reduce the speed and increase the torque on the output shaft. Due to the gear system, the gearbox converts and transmits torque from one shaft to another, converts the high angular speed of rotation of the input shaft into a lower speed of the output shaft. An alternative to a gearbox is a belt drive, a chain drive.
